Organization
Your portfolio will contain one or more European purchasing regions for which you will manage the related procurement of capital goods and services. This will involve large projects, big amounts and long-term plans. Because you maintain close contacts with the different plants, you are the right person to translate strategic targets into a strong procurement policy.
The versatile, international environment at our customer demands a specialist who feels at home as part of a broad multidisciplinary network. You will prove your value at the strategic, tactical and operational level in your relationship with Engineering, Maintenance, SES, R&D, P&O, S&F and other internal key accounts. In addition, you simultaneously fulfil a leading role in the contract negotiations with suppliers concerning the aspects of price, quality, availability and payments. Your profile: A strong personality, an eye for detail and a drive for permanent improvement.
You have supplemented your technical or business management university background with at least two years of relevant experience. A good command of written and spoken English is required and fluency in Dutch is an advantage.
Function
Key contributions:
• Develop a flexible, long term supplier network able to meet current and anticipated future needs
• Establish effective client networks and become involved in site activities
• Define client and commodity targeted buying strategies
• Write and manage buying plans for all large projects
• Negotiate with suppliers to optimise price, quality, availability and payment terms
• Add value through challenging and clarifying specifications with client group
• Adopt and improve buying system implementations
• Lead buying role for key technical or technological areas
Requirements
Your profile:
• Vocational or University Degree
• Technical background is desirable
• At least 2 years experience in a Technical / R&D / Engineering or Commercial environment
• Good knowledge of the English language -oral and written- are essential
• Strong knowledge of the Dutch language is an advantage
• Independent drive
• Attention to detail
• Strong leadership and teamworking skills
• Well developed Commercial skills particularly in new supplier selection, development and qualification
